About the blog and its author

‘Of course life frightens me sometimes. I don’t happen to take that as the premise for everything else though. I’m going to give it hundred percent and go as far as I can. I’ll take what I want and leave what I don’t want. That’s how I intend to live my life, and if things go bad, I’ll stop and reconsider at that point.’  (Haruki Murakami)

“In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount.”  (Haruki Murakami)

I’m a fresh post-graduate of Finance and accounding on the University of Gdansk, Poland. For the most of the time I’m a busy person.  I like to keep myself busy – life’s so interesting, so many books to read, skills to possess, people to meet!  I’m not really one of this crazy people trying to get away from their regular life whenever they have an occasion to. Actually, I enjoy my cosy little life in Gdansk, spending time with my friends&my boyfriend, working on myself. But I do like to discover new worlds as well, haha maybe that’s the part of me that have always wanted to be a journalist ; ). For as long as I can, I will try to devote some of my free time to do it. It’s just I find it more enjoyable to go for a longer journey. It gives me the opportunity to see more than an avarage turist who chooses an all-included trip and do more than take only cute facebook profile pics to make other people jealous. If I can, I will try to devote more time to stay in one place, get closer to locals, spot funny and extraordinary things. That’s why I’m a huge fan of Couchsurfing, as it’s very close to my vision of what travelling could be.

Anyway, I hope this short introduction can help you define and understand my perception of world. I’m a fan of making things straight and easy and since this blog was created mostly for sake of my friends, my idea is to keep it in this style as well. Our daily life is already too complicated and we tend to forget about all these small, wonderful things that are making it worthwile. That’s exactly the climax I would like to maintain here, on my blog.

God, I have no idea if anyone understands what I’m trying to say! I hope that there will be no doubts after listening to the song listed below, which actually inspired me to name my blog and give it a certain shape.

Small update for lazy, impatient or those who like being given everything straightaway : )

I hear various opinions on my blog, for which I am grateful and which I seriously take into consideration. One and pretty common of them is that MY POSTS ARE TOO LONG!!! ; ) What is more, there is a lot of pictures and their descriptions, historical facts and other references; it is impossible to read everything at once and besically it is too troublesome to follow the blog.

So, my dear friends, here is my answer : ). If I wanted only to post pictures with a 2-sentence descriptions, I would have never started the blog. I’d have sticked with facebook or (in a more cool, but less probable version) fotoblog – they are perfect to keep a track of picures, simple to update and comment. They don’t need too much attention and they have this great asset that one can share it with friends easilly via link. Instead, I started writting the blog to have the opportunity to do this and much more. I’m adding my own thoughts and impressions on things, telling you about my adventures, people who I met, decisions I made on the way. I want to make it more personal this way, I want you to be there for a while, to feel the atmosphere, to share my feelings, experience my position. So, I ADVISE YOU TO TREAT MY BLOG MORE LIKE A BOOK, which covers different topics, is divided into chapters and don’t have to be read at once. There is a lot of information, so just eat it piece by piece if you can – buen appetite! : )
